I say rap is just crap without the C
then pause for your reaction to see if you agree
the commercial on tv perpetuates and imagery
that I dont want associated with me
I was raised on the classics EPMD
before that it was crash crew, treacherous 3
had to do my research just to earn the right to grab the mic
and your verse better be tight
nowadays you can mumble phrase over a beat
then rinse, repeat 'til intellect is obsolete
without any context you associate rap music
with guns and sex and view it as a threat
to your limited mindset, rednecks hate it
I respect the art form and thats why I create it
in your eyes im juvenile and a failure at that
so dont be surprised if I dont tell you I rap

we freestyled the whole night with no mic
got the finest 2 radicals from both sides
as we learned it was more than a dope rhyme
and we we're livin by the code back in '05
sittin on a gold mine 49 ways to skin a cat
so my significance to spit a rap
something like a hidden fact we're still going by the manuscript
walking with a staff speaking vanglorious ways
it was never a phase just a real moment
you say its a thing of the past but they still quote it
you can compare the golden era
to the next one theres so much we're unaware of
so salute to those resisting with dedication
and respect the pioneers and the last generation of kids
that hit lab dont treat it like a business
stick with your vision and keep in mind this is rhythmic
